Deborah Kaufman is the Founder & CEO of K² Search. For over 20 years, Deborah has collaboratively partnered with clients in North America ranging from venture backed disruptive start ups to members of the Global Fortune 500. The K² talent acquisition teams are aligned by function with groups dedicated to Marketing, PR/Communications, Big Data, Human Resources, Finance /Risk/ Compliance, and Diversity. With offices in New York, Miami, Chicago, and St. Louis, K2 strategically identifies and tactically acquires world class senior level executive talent for our clients. Our industry focus spans financial services, consumer services, technology, media and energy.
While the firm has broad expertise across multiple functions and industries, Deborah’s passion is in Diversity. Known for its deep and broad relationships in the diversity marketplace, and status as a diverse company, Deborah has built a nationally recognized Diversity practice group at K² Search, leading a team of specialists in the recruitment and placement of African-Americans, Hispanics, Women, LGBT and other diverse professionals. K² Search is passionate about the value that comes from a diverse workforce, and works actively with clients on building diversity programs, and hiring diverse talent.
Leveraging her in-depth knowledge of distinctive leadership traits, competencies and cultural fit, Deborah serves as an advisor and trusted counsel to her clients helping to guide the identification and selection of the highest performance, best fitting additions to their executive leadership teams.
Prior to launching K² Search in 2006, Deborah was a partner in an International Executive Search firm based in NYC, and was responsible for operations and executing an international expansion of the company. During her tenure, Deborah opened and managed multiple offices in South Africa and Europe, and went on to become the COO and Managing Partner of the company. Deborah began her career in the retail industry working with Toys “R” Us and NIKE in their corporate headquarters where she focused on Human Resources and Corporate Recruitment. Deborah received a BA in Organizational Psychology from Missouri State University and completed her Masters work in Organizational Development at NYU.
Deborah’s community involvement includes serving on the board of the Boy Scouts, as well as support of The United Way, Bethel University for Autism, and The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
VP, Financial Services Practice Group Leader
Jeff has been leading the Financial Services Practice for K² Search since 2008. He has been instrumental in building the K² Search Diversity Practice, specializing in designing strategies to deliver partial and full diversity slates on firm wide assignments. Jeff is an expert at developing highly specific sourcing and candidate development strategies to identify complex candidate profiles in an effective and scalable manner.
Prior to K² Search, he held a series of progressively more senior financial service related executive recruiting positions in New York City. He was a Principal at Muller & Associates in the firm’s Financial Services Practice, was Manager of the North American Research and Recruiting Group for Egon Zehnder, and was a Senior Associate at Ray & Berndtson. Jeff’s early career included Global Business Analysis for American Express, and an associate in Morgan Stanley’s Real Estate Investment Bank. Jeff is a Graduate of Columbia University, and he resides with his wife Tracey, and their two children just outside of New York City in Bronxville, NY.
Principal /Practice Group Leader
Vicky Brooks is a Principal with K² Search focused on Human Resources, Communications and Marketing. Her depth of experience working with blue chip, marketing and branding powerhouses early in her career helped Vicky to develop her acumen and entrepreneurial thirst for clearly understanding market position, how to leverage brand and strategy to drive results, and ultimately the high premium that organizations needed to put on the people in their positions to execute. Prior to joining K² Search, Vicky owned a boutique consultancy firm, focused on candidate generation and executive search.
Vicky’s early career included strategy, sales and client management at Xerox Corporation, Johnson & Johnson, and the Hershey Company. Vicky is a graduate of the Emerson College in Boston, with a BS Degree in Communications and English. Vicky resides in Chicago, IL with her husband and three children.
Principal /Practice Group Leader
Mark is leading the Data and Marketing Analytics practice within K² Search, focused on Digital Marketing, Big Data, and Risk Management. Mark has successfully executed US and global searches for strategic leadership roles in fortune 100 companies in the US, Europe and Asia. With a focus on talent from global industry leaders in analytics, technology, and finance, Mark has recruited and placed candidates with scale and capacity to drive change in the largest corporations.
Mark began his Executive Search career with Muller & Associates based in NYC, working across Advisory, Wealth & Asset Management, Corporate Trust, Corporate Treasury, Commercial Banking and Retail Banking in Finance, Sales, Compliance, Marketing, Credit and Risk. Mark has conducted both US and International searches for companies such as; Experian, Lloyds Banking Group, PwC and MasterCard. In 2011, He joined k²search with a focus on risk, analytics and finance. Mark graduated from Tulane University with a double major in History and Psychology. Mark resides in Miami Beach, FL with his wife and son.
Lisa’s search expertise lies in the HR and Marketing arena, with a strong track record of exceptional placements in Fortune 500 companies and not-for-profit organizations. Lisa joined K² Search in 2017, bringing with her a passion for sourcing and developing outstanding candidates for our clients. Lisa began her executive search career with Heidrick & Struggles in the Life Sciences practice in Los Angeles. Earlier in her career she was selected for JP Morgan’s management training program in New York and London and subsequently managed investments for foundations and individuals for the JPMorgan Private Bank in Los Angeles.
Lisa has led marketing and project management for the GRAMMY Foundation, House of Blues, National Association of Social Workers, and MENTOR. Inspired by her work with women and children, Lisa wrote and recorded an album called Attachment Theory to enrich families through music. She also volunteers as director of Chick Singer Night, the world’s longest-running talent showcase for women. Lisa earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Virginia and a Master of Social Work from UCLA.
Director, Operations & Finance
Avi Rosenzweig serves as the Manager of Operations and Finance for K² Search. She is primarily responsible for the efficient management and coordination of the day to day operations of the firm. Avi brings a wealth of experience in operational and internal financial management, and serves a key role on the K² Search team. She oversees our internal research, client, candidate, and financial management processes, allowing our client facing teams to efficiently leverage a structured and scalable platform from which to deliver our services.
Avi joined K² Search from the Non-Profit sector, where she held various senior administrative and management positions, responsible for coordinating and executing on multiple disciplines. Her demonstrated experience spans the design and implementation of educational training programs, database management and optimization, financial controller, office manager, and project manager. Avi currently serves on the board of the Jewish Light and Congregation B’nai Amoona. Avi holds an undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University and a master’s degree from the University of Maryland. Avi resides in St. Louis, MO with her husband and three children.
Research & Recruitment Coordinator
Pauline Rose serves as the Research & Recruitment Coordinator for K² Search. In this role, Paulie successfully helps to manage the search process; supporting the team from initiation to completion, ensuring that communication and deliverables are thorough, and that the many details and logistics of each search are handled for a highly efficient and smooth process. Her organizational skills and attention to detail, are an important part of our process, providing our clients and candidates with exceptional service.
Previously Paulie served as the Jewish Life and Learning Coordinator at the Jewish Community Center of Columbus, OH. Paulie holds an undergraduate degree as well as a master’s degree in Education from JTS in New York. Paulie is married, and has four children.
